Diving on Bonaire

Bonaire-Turtle

We think there are few locations a more beautiful destination for diving than Bonaire. Bonaire is known to divers as 'Diver's Paradise'. Diving on Bonaire is very accessible. At any time of the day you can drive to any site on the coast to make a shore dive from the beach. After a short swim you are almost immediately at the middle of the coral reef (drive & dive). This is what appeals to many diving tourists and what sets Bonaire apart from most other global diving destinations. On Bonaire you also have so-called 'drive thru fill stations'. These are filling stations for recreational divers. You drive up, exchange your empty diving tank for a full one and you go to the next dive site.

Villas Azul is optimally equipped with facilities for groups and individual divers. Spacious rinse tanks, lockers, information material and a wide selection of partners and support for the best diving holiday.

Over the past decades, Bonaire has been repeatedly voted as the best diving destination of the Caribbean archipelago by the leading American diving magazine 'Scuba Diving Magazine'. Bonaire is particularly praised for its many shore diving opportunities and untouched maritime nature. Bonaire has 86 official dive sites, including 51 shore dive sites. There are 60 of these dive sites on the quiet west coast of Bonaire. The official diving destinations are indicated from the shore by special yellow stones and in the water by yellow buoys. All dive sites on Bonaire have a unique name. Bonaire has a number of wrecks that are accessible to divers, some of which have been deliberately sunk to encourage coral formation. In addition, great low-threshold packages are available for the East coast, Slagbaai Nature Park, Klein-Bonaire and various boat dive locations.
